Who we’re looking for
Tutors (Elementary & Middle School)
We work with NYC families with kids from Pre-K through 8th grade—reading & ELA, math, science, social studies, foreign language, SHSAT and other test prep, and study skills. We're looking for tutors who build real rapport with a kid and can explain the same idea three different ways until it clicks.
Birthday Party Specialists
You take a parent's half-formed idea—a theme, a headcount, a date—and turn it into a party that actually comes together, at home, in a park, or at a rented venue anywhere in NYC. Some families want planning only; others want you there running the day.
The Activities Insider
You're the parent everyone's group chat asks "what's good to do this weekend?"—and you always have an answer, for any of the five boroughs, indoors or out, free or splurge. We need that instinct to help families plan their weekends and trips.
About Surehand
Surehand is a family-owned company that helps NYC parents get birthday parties, tutoring, and kids’ activities handled well, without doing the legwork themselves. We’re not a directory where you post a profile and wait to get picked—a parent tells us what they need once, and we take it from there.
We built our own software to run that operation, and it’s what lets us hand you a real, fully scoped job instead of a cold lead. When a family submits a request, our system captures everything relevant—the kid’s age, the subject or theme, the schedule, the budget—and routes it straight to the right person on the team, ready to go. No bidding on leads, no chasing down a stranger’s contact info, no guessing what they actually want.
From there, the same system keeps the job on track end to end, so a reschedule or a question doesn’t just get lost in a text thread. You get real infrastructure behind you and a real team paying attention—not an app that connects you to a family and disappears.
