What does the planning fee cover?
Your planner's time: finding and booking vendors, sending invitations, tracking RSVPs and allergies, building the day-of timeline and table plan, and keeping your budget up to date. Planning is $69 by text, WhatsApp, or email, or $149 with planning calls.
Do you send the invitations?
Yes, and it's included in the planning fee. We text or email the invitation to each family on your guest list, follow up with anyone who hasn't replied, and keep RSVPs and allergies up to date in your plan.
Do I pay the venue and vendors through you?
No. You contract and pay the venue, cake, entertainment, and other vendors directly, so their own policies apply to that part of the cost. Our fee covers only our planning and coordination.
What does a whole party usually cost?
It depends on the venue and the guest list. Gyms and play spaces often run $30 to $40 per kid before food and cake. Tell us what you'd like to spend all in, and your planner plans to that number.
Where can the party be?
Anywhere in NYC: at home, in a park, at a restaurant or café, or at a venue. If you haven't found a venue yet, your planner can help you find one.
What's a hosted party?
A Surehand party leader runs the whole party for $349: setup, a themed activity built from our clubs, games, cake time, and cleanup. Up to 12 kids, 2 hours, in your building's community room, at home, in a park, or in a space you rent. You bring the cake and food.
Will someone be there on the day?
If you'd like. On-site coordination is an add-on at $50/hr. We're there for setup, run the timeline, and handle teardown, and you're only billed for the hours we work.
What will I see while you plan?
Your own private plan in SOFE, our platform: the guest list and RSVPs, allergies, the day-of timeline, supplies, and your budget, all kept up to date by your planner. It opens from a sign-in link we email you, so there's no password to remember.
Do you plan themed parties?
Yes. Your planner builds the theme around what your child loves: the look, the supplies, the activities, and printables with their name on them. You can see a full sample, our Dino Dig dinosaur party, on this site.
Can my helpers see the plan on party day?
Yes. Your helpers, entertainer, and venue can each get their own link to the plan in SOFE. Each person sees the timeline and their own jobs, and checks them off as they go, so you can see what's done.
What if I need to cancel or reschedule?
Our planning fee is fully refundable if you cancel before we've started work. Once your planner has started, the fee covers that work and isn't refundable.
